Calcium Lactate is often used in food as a firming agent, and it’s similarly used in our products to stabilise and thicken them.

Calcium lactate is a calcium salt found in lactic acid, which is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA). Whilst naturally found in cheese, Lush uses synthetically reproduced calcium lactate, making it vegan.
