Ingredient

Ground Organic Aduki Beans

Phaseolus Angularis

Benefits

Exfoliating

It’s an itsy bitsy teeny weeny little ground aduki bean(y).

From the bean genus (Phaseolus) of the legume family (Fabaceae), the aduki plant grows like a vine and bears pods filled with beans. These can be cooked whole or ground into a fine flour. They have been grown and eaten in Korea, China and Japan since ancient times, and are often called ‘king of beans’. They are also commonly known as adzuki or red mung beans.

What are the benefits of ground Organic aduki beans?

Ground Organic aduki beans add a naturally exfoliating element to our products. Even though we don't always see them, dead skin cells like to linger on the surface of the skin and can make it look dull. Fortunately, there is nothing that a good scrub can't remove, and this is where these beans prove to be very useful.

Where does Lush source ground Organic aduki beans?

Lush UK* purchase organically-grown aduki beans from Argentina which are then shipped to the UK to be ground. When whole, they are dark red in colour with a thin white line along the ridge.

*With several manufacturing sites across the globe, this information may vary depending on where your Lush products were made.
