The lemon tree (Citrus limonum) is a small, evergreen plant belonging to the Rutaceae family. Native to India, the tree produces oval leaves, with blossoms and fruit that vary in rind thickness and juice content.
Lemons contain large amounts of vitamin C, which means their juice is packed with cleansing and antioxidant properties, helping keep the skin firm and protected. On hair, it gives a glossy shine as the astringent properties of the fruit cause hair follicles to lie flat, allowing them to better reflect the light.
